How to play Klondike Solitaire

Keep the embers burning. Stack aces up, alternate colors down. A classic Klondike round around the fire.

  1. Build Down, Alternate Colors

    Stack cards in the seven tableau columns in descending rank with alternating colors: black 7 on red 8, red 6 on black 7.

  2. Tap the Stock to Draw

    Out of moves? Tap the stock pile to draw new cards. Easy and Medium flip one card at a time; Hard and Very Hard flip three, and only the top of the trio is playable. Recycle the stock as many times as you need.

  3. Foundations: Ace to King

    Send each suit home to its foundation pile, starting with the Ace and building up in suit to the King. Tap a card to auto-send when eligible.

  4. Win With All Four Home

    Get every card up onto the four foundations to win the round. Empty columns can hold a King. Uncover the kings early to keep your options open.

Four difficulty levels

Every level keeps its own streak, best and high score, so climbing costs you nothing.

Easy
Draw one card from the stock. The friendliest Klondike.
Medium
Same gentle draw-one rules. The classic.
Hard
Draw three cards at a time. Only the top is playable.
Very Hard
Draw three, and no undos. Every move is committed.

How Pyramid differs
  1. Pair to Thirteen Tap two exposed cards whose ranks add up to 13 to clear them. Aces count as 1, Jacks as 11, Queens 12. A King is 13. Tap it on its own.
  2. Uncover From the Bottom Up A pyramid card is selectable only when both children below it have been removed. Work the bottom row first to free the cards above.
  3. Stock and Waste Tap the deck to flip the next card onto the waste, then pair it with any exposed pyramid card. Easy lets you recycle the stock as often as you like; harder modes give you fewer passes.
  4. Empty the Pyramid Clear every slot to win. If the stock and your redeals run out with pairs still on the table, the round is over. Try the deal again.

Klondike Solitaire plays completely offline

Every round of Klondike Solitaire is generated, played and saved on your own device. There is no account, no sync and no server to reach, so it works the same on a plane, in a tunnel or with the phone in airplane mode.

There are four levels. Easy is "Draw one card from the stock. The friendliest Klondike." Very Hard is "Draw three, and no undos. Every move is committed." Your streak, best and high score are tracked separately for each level, so moving up never costs you what you earned lower down.
