What's new

Changelog

Every build of Offline Game Box, newest first - new games, new modes, and the little improvements that make the box cozier to play.

Beta 1.3 June 3, 2026 Newest

Learn any game in a few taps, play Hearts solo, and never lose your place.

New games & modes

  • Hearts is now its own game - classic, every-player-for-themselves Hearts where the lowest score wins. The partnership game lives on as a free Teams variant.
  • Hearts Teams gets a midnight spy-dossier makeover - navy chrome, brass accents, and a surveillance-themed table.

Learn as you play

  • New interactive first-move tutorials - the first time you open one, a quick walkthrough rings what matters and plays the opening move for you on the real board. Now live for 2048 (and Hex 2048), Lights Out (and Hex Lights Out), Pipe Flow (and Three Springs), Water Sort, Nuts & Bolts, Minesweeper, Block Puzzle, Word Search, Sudoku, and Atomic Chess.
  • Drag-based lessons like Block Puzzle and Word Search let you grab the real piece yourself.
  • Replay any of them anytime from the rules page - with more games getting their own walkthrough soon.

Games & balance

  • Checkers: clearly-drawn endgames now end in a real Draw instead of shuffling forever.
  • Fuzzlings: a harder, fairer challenge with a clearer pulsing danger line and a pile that settles cleanly.
  • Flappy Taco Hoops: a fast basketball-style rework - swish the taco through angled rims to build a fire streak, with fatal misses, a ceiling, and rebuilt flaming rims that burn hotter and bigger as your streak climbs.
  • Nuts & Bolts: new landing and completion animations, with a ribbon that sweeps across a solved board and an endless-mode sparkle.
  • Smoother card dragging across Solitaire, Freecell, and Spider.

Quality of life

  • Autosave after every move - a crash or force-quit mid-round now resumes right where you left off.
  • Gameplay pauses while the how-to-play sheet is open.
  • A new What's New sheet with the release log and an in-app feedback form, plus a one-tap way to invite a friend to the beta.
  • Falling Blocks drags lock to a single axis so drops no longer drift sideways.
Beta 1.2 June 1, 2026

Two new ways to play, smarter card games, and a calmer ride.

New games & modes

  • Puffer Sweep - Hex Minesweeper reborn as a sunlit tide pool, with fresh reef art and a whole new world to sweep.
  • Fuzzlings goes underwater - a new mode where gravity flips and your pieces float up. Fuzzlings bob, drift, and pop up out of the water.

Smarter card games

  • Pull cards back down from the foundations in Solitaire & Freecell.
  • Neater, auto-compacting stacks in Solitaire, Freecell, and Spider.
  • Themed Klondike & Pyramid decks dressed to match their scenes.

New controls

  • Drag to move pieces in Chess, plus a clearer bishop.
  • Falling Blocks gains an upward-swipe hard drop and a pause button.

Smoother & friendlier

  • Sand Fall: piles now build steeper, so you have to spread the sand across the field instead of dumping it all in one spot.
  • Sudoku: clearer Undo / Erase / Notes buttons that no longer wash out against bright variant boards.
  • A richer Daily Puzzle completion celebration.
  • No more accidental restarts right after a loss.
  • Easier in-game help, now right next to the difficulty picker.
  • Gentler notifications for a calmer first run.
  • Friendlier word lists in the easier modes and an assorted polish pass on visuals, animation, and balance.
Beta 1.1 May 30, 2026

iPad support arrives, and every board gets dressed up.

Full iPad support

  • Every board, header, menu, paywall, and dialog now scales and centers properly on iPad - no more tiny floating boards or edge-to-edge sprawl.
  • Roomier Spades & Hearts tables so the hands are comfortable to play on bigger screens.
  • Full-screen arcade games scale cleanly to any iPad.

Themed boards

  • Chess, Sudoku, Checkers, Reversi, and Freecell variants each get a board dressed to match their own scene.
  • Boosted chess-piece contrast and softened busy Sudoku variant boards so the game reads at a glance.
