How to play Word Guess

A daily-feel word guess by the hearth. Six guesses to find the secret word, and every letter you place lights up the bricks.

Guess the Hidden Word

A secret word is hidden in the bricks. You have six guesses to discover it. Make each one a real word.
Read the Color Clues

After each guess: green means right letter in the right spot, amber means right letter in the wrong spot, dim means not in the word at all.
Use the Keyboard Hints

The on-screen keyboard tracks every letter you've tried. Used letters dim and color-code the same way the bricks do.
Win Before the Embers Fade

Find the word in six tries to keep the fire going. A win counts toward your streak. A miss starts the count over.

Four difficulty levels

Every level keeps its own streak, best and high score, so climbing costs you nothing.

Easy: Four-letter words. A short kindling round.
Medium: Five-letter words. The cozy classic.
Hard: Six-letter words. The fire really has to work.
Very Hard: Seven-letter words. A long, slow burn.

How Four Boards differs

Four Boards, One Guess Four hidden words sit open on the reading table, one board in each corner. Every guess you make is read against all four boards at once.
Each Board Scores Itself After each guess, every board lights its own bricks. Green for the right letter in the right spot, ember for the right letter in the wrong spot, dim for not on that board.
Shared Keyboard, Best Hint Wins The keyboard pools clues across every board still open. A letter glows by its best result anywhere it still matters, so you keep useful hints even after a board is solved.
Solve All Four in Nine Three extra guesses, nine in all, to solve every board before the candle goes out. Finish all four to keep the streak; one board left unsolved when the ninth line fills resets it.

Word Guess plays completely offline

Every round of Word Guess is generated, played and saved on your own device. There is no account, no sync and no server to reach, so it works the same on a plane, in a tunnel or with the phone in airplane mode.

Does Word Guess work without internet?

Yes. Word Guess generates every round on your device and saves your progress there too, so it plays exactly the same on a plane, on the underground or with the phone in airplane mode. Nothing in Just One More needs a connection.

How hard does Word Guess get?

There are four levels. Easy is "Four-letter words. A short kindling round." Very Hard is "Seven-letter words. A long, slow burn." Your streak, best and high score are tracked separately for each level, so moving up never costs you what you earned lower down.

Are there other ways to play Word Guess?
