How to play 2048

Swipe, double, bloom. Combine matching leaves up and up until the jade tile blossoms.

Swipe a Direction

Swipe up, down, left, or right and every leaf on the board slides as far as it can in that direction.
Equal Leaves Merge

When two equal-numbered leaves slide into each other, they fuse into one leaf with double the value. A new 2-leaf appears each turn.
Chase the Jade Tile

Keep doubling: 2, 4, 8, 16, all the way up to the jade 2048 leaf. Reaching it blossoms the board.
Don't Run Out of Room

If the board fills up and no swipe creates a merge, the round ends. Keep your biggest leaf in a corner to stay flexible.

Four difficulty levels

Every level keeps its own streak, best and high score, so climbing costs you nothing.

Easy: Roomy 5×5. Only 2-leaves spawn, with plenty of room to plan a corner chain.
Medium: The classic 4×4 grid with the occasional 4 spawning.
Hard: Tight 3×4 board and frequent 4s. The corner-chain trick collapses.
Very Hard: A 3×3 squeeze. Push your best leaf as high as you can before it locks up.

How Hex 2048 differs

Swipe Six Ways Drag in any of the six hex directions: up, down, or any of the four diagonals. Every wax cell on the board slides as far as it can along that axis.
Equal Cells Fuse When two equal-numbered cells slide into each other, they fuse into one cell with double the value. A new 2-cell drips into an empty spot each turn.
Chase the 2048 Cell Keep doubling: 2, 4, 8, 16, all the way up to the glowing 2048 cell. Reaching it lights the whole hive.
Don't Pack the Hive If the comb fills and no swipe creates a fusion, the round ends. Anchor your biggest cell against an edge. Corners are scarce on a hex.

2048 plays completely offline

Every round of 2048 is generated, played and saved on your own device. There is no account, no sync and no server to reach, so it works the same on a plane, in a tunnel or with the phone in airplane mode.

Does 2048 work without internet?

Yes. 2048 generates every round on your device and saves your progress there too, so it plays exactly the same on a plane, on the underground or with the phone in airplane mode. Nothing in Just One More needs a connection.

How hard does 2048 get?

There are four levels. Easy is "Roomy 5×5. Only 2-leaves spawn, with plenty of room to plan a corner chain." Very Hard is "A 3×3 squeeze. Push your best leaf as high as you can before it locks up." Your streak, best and high score are tracked separately for each level, so moving up never costs you what you earned lower down.

Are there other ways to play 2048?
